What group planning actually changes

Planning a wedding or private celebration alone means making dozens of decisions without any reference point. In a group setting, participants hear what others have already tried, which vendors fell short, and where money was well spent. That shared knowledge cuts down the time spent on dead ends and gives each couple a clearer picture of what to expect at each stage. It does not replace personal taste - it informs it.

How a programme runs, step by step

Each service follows a consistent structure so participants know what to prepare and what to expect at each meeting.

  1. 01

    Intake and group matching

After enrolling, you complete a short brief covering your event type, approximate date, and the areas where you need the most guidance. We use this to place you in a cohort with people at a similar planning stage. Mismatched groups slow everyone down, so this step is taken seriously.

  2. 02

Session one - scope and priorities

The first meeting maps out what each participant is working on and sets a shared agenda for the programme. The facilitator identifies where the group overlaps and where individual attention will be needed. This session usually surfaces assumptions that would otherwise cause problems later.

  3. 03

Working sessions - vendor review and decision support

The middle sessions are where most of the practical work happens. Participants present their shortlists, get feedback from the group, and work through contracts, timelines, and budgets with the facilitator's input. These are structured discussions, not open forums - each person gets dedicated time.

  4. 04

    Closing review and handover

The final session checks each participant's plan against their original goals and flags any gaps. You leave with a clear action list and access to session notes. If your event is still months away, optional check-in sessions can be scheduled separately at a reduced rate.

Questions people ask before enrolling

Sessions run via video call on a schedule agreed with the group. All materials - vendor comparison sheets, budget templates, timeline frameworks - are shared digitally before each meeting. Participants join from wherever they are, which means no travel and no rescheduling around geography. The facilitator manages the agenda and ensures each person's questions get addressed within the session time.

Group programmes work well for any event where the planning process involves multiple vendors, a budget to manage, and decisions that benefit from outside perspective. The size of the celebration matters less than the complexity of the planning. Milestone birthdays, anniversary parties, and intimate weddings all generate similar planning challenges, and the group format addresses those directly.

Date changes happen, particularly for weddings booked well in advance. If your event date shifts, we will do our best to move you to a cohort that matches your revised timeline. This is not always possible if the programme is already underway, so we ask that you flag date uncertainty at intake rather than after the group has started working together.

The programme price covers facilitation, structured group sessions, and access to planning resources. Vendors are not selected or booked on your behalf - that remains your decision. What the sessions provide is a structured way to evaluate your options, hear from others who have reviewed similar vendors, and get feedback on your shortlist before committing. We do not take referral fees from any vendor.
